Orchids are not ordinary potting-soil houseplants. Many commonly grown orchids prefer bright indirect light, airflow, humidity and a loose growing medium such as orchid bark or other airy mixes, depending on the type. They can suit Indian homes and protected balconies when heat, light and watering are managed carefully.
Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Vanda, Cattleya, Oncidium and other orchids differ in watering frequency, temperature tolerance and how exposed they can be. In hot or very dry conditions, humidity and airflow become especially important; in wet climates, stagnant moisture can cause problems. Request availability to confirm the orchid type, plant stage, packing and delivery feasibility before purchase.
