Cactus plants are best considered for bright spaces, sunny balconies, dry garden corners and containers with fast drainage. Many tolerate dry periods well, but that does not mean every cactus will thrive in a dark interior or a constantly wet pot.
In India, the main risks are usually low light, overwatering and heavy monsoon exposure. Desert-type cacti such as barrel and bunny ear forms need very different care from plants like Christmas Cactus, which prefers a more protected routine. Compare sunlight, watering and drainage needs plant by plant, then request current availability so size, packing and destination feasibility can be confirmed.
